SpecialisedHGV has the largest network of training centres in the UK.
Our network ensures that 95% of the UK population is never more that one hour away from one of our centres.
From the chalk uplands of the South Downs to the northern borderlands of the Weald, East Sussex has some lovely landscapes that are truly a feast for the senses. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to experience all of the beauty and grandeur this region has to offer as part of your daily job? You can, by obtaining a commercial driving licence to become a lorry or bus driver.
We make it easy to get your professional driving licence through our HGV training in East Sussex. As the largest and most reputable provider of driver training in the UK, we have a convenient and affordable programme in East Sussex that can have you licenced and ready to look for work in a matter of weeks. There is no need for you to spend years in university when you can complete our training programme in a fraction of the time.
HGV training is relatively fast because students already have car licences when training begins. It is not as if you have to start from scratch. Rather, HGV training builds on what you already know as a car driver with a few years of experience. It enhances your current knowledge of driving and road safety to account for the extra challenges of professional driving.
In order to be a professional driver, you need to take a few training classes and pass four exams mandated by the government. To begin training, you will need to:
If you can meet those three simple requirements, you can train to be a professional. Our HGV training in East Sussex is regularly accepting new students ready to learn. If you are ready, contact us so we can get you started right away.
Every new student who signs up for our HGV training in East Sussex is immediately provided with two information packages. The first package is all about the HGV medical. In that package you will find the medical paperwork you will need to take to your doctor at the time of your exam. It also includes additional information about what the exam entails and what the government regulations say about the health of professional drivers.
The second information package is all about the provisional entitlement we mentioned earlier. It includes helpful licencing information, instructions, and the provisional entitlement application itself. Our support staff can help you complete the application and submit it in a timely fashion. Submitting it as soon as possible is a wise idea in light of the fact that you cannot begin your formal training without the provisional entitlement.
While waiting for your provisional entitlement to arrive in the post, we recommend preparing for the HGV theory exam. This exam is a two-part test intended to test your knowledge of road safety and hazard avoidance. It consists of the following:
We provide all of our students with advanced training software that they can use to prepare for the theory test. The software includes actual questions taken from previous tests as well as multiple practice tests. This kind of preparation is invaluable to new drivers, inasmuch as it makes them familiar with what the actual test will be like. It boosts confidence and increases the chances students will pass.
Our HGV training in East Sussex really picks up after students pass the theory test. With provisional entitlement in hand, students who pass can move on to what we call practical skills training. This training prepares you to take the final three exams required by driving regulations:
We prepare our students through a combination of classroom and hands-on training. In the classroom, students learn the knowledge and basic principles they will need to know to satisfy examiners. Our hands-on training puts students behind the wheel of a late-model vehicle for the purposes of learning the necessary driving skills, and then practising what they have learned.
The case studies test can be taken at any point during training; the physical skills and practical demonstration tests are scheduled at the conclusion of classroom and hands-on training. Our goal, as a training company, is to do everything we can to make sure you pass your tests on the first try. We do not want you to have to repeat anything if at all possible.
The final step in the process of becoming a professional driver is to convert your provisional entitlement into a permanent licence. Your only part in the process is to pass your final two exams. Assuming you do, the examiner who worked with you during the examination process will forward your successful test results to the DVLA so that a permanent licence can be issued. You will receive that licence in the post.
As you can see, the process of becoming a professional bus or lorry driver is not a complicated one. It is a simple five-step process most of our students successfully complete with little trouble. If others can do it, so can you. We are here to help make it happen.
